Position: Specialist Supply Planning – RPM

Location: Navi Mumbai

Reporting to: Superior Manager - IMEA RPM Planning

Criteria: Any Graduate with 3+ years of experience in a central role of the Supply Chain with Good understanding of the linkages between inventory control, planning, and procurement.

Job Purpose: 

The position provides the resource and speed in the implementation of important procurement savings and establishment/maintenance of an ongoing robust Raws and Packs Material replenishment framework, including effective shortage management in IMEA. The role corresponds to the rapidly changing environment of (global) Raws and Packs Material and External Supplier sourcing. This role would be the focal point of contact between Purchasing, Production Planner, Operations, Suppliers and Sales in order to maximize the efficiency in the use of allocated volumes and minimize risk of supply to the third party customer base.

Detailed tasks:

Inventory management:

  • Delivers IMEA Raw and Packaging material inventory targets , including days cover, value range, stock in tons defined by IMEA R&P Material Planning Manager for each plant.

  • Maintains safety stock and checks safety stocks for Raw and Packaging materials in a systematic manner.

  • Reports for Raw and Packaging material inventories in the dashboard on a weekly basis.

  • Analyse higher than planned Raw and Packaging material inventories (>180 days) and find reasons for high stock identified, define solutions to reduce stocks and define measures to prevent from increase.

  • Escalates non solvable issues to IMEA R&P Material Planning Manager.

  • Identifies slow- and non-movers in the Raw and Packaging material stock and finds the reasons for them. Initiates reduction by sale & shipment to other plants, returns to suppliers, finding alternative finished goods to use them for.

Shortage Management:

  • Identify shortages in Raw and Packaging materials and provide a critical raw material list to production planners.

  • In case of shortages check alternative Raw and Packaging materials with Product Development, whether the demand can be met with these and whether the use is appropriate.

  • Contact Purchasing and IMEA R&P Material Planning Manager if allocations in a restricted market do not meet the demand, e.g. to find alternative suppliers or other affiliates.

Project Management:

  • Utilize 20% of the work-load for regional projects.

  • Manage Raw and Packaging price trend analysis & price index preparation.

Supplier Management (Supply Chain related):

  • Manage planning transition about changes in suppliers/materials with local Raw and Packaging Material Planners in order to ensure immediate utilization of sourcing savings.

  • Contact vendors to resolve issues (reg. delivery, quality, specifications, …)

  • Escalates non solvable issues to Purchasing or IMEA RPM Material Planning Manager where necessary.

Master Data Management:

  • Maintains Raw and Packaging material master data and planning parameters like safety stock, lead times, minimum or maximum quantities in SAP and SNP.

Process Management:

  • Standardize and enhance continuously Raw and Packaging material planning processes, enhance tools.

  • Take on process ownership for the P2P process.

  • Share best practice rules for safety stock/ inventory levels for raw material across IMEA.

Product Harmonization (raw materials perspective):

  • Involvement in product harmonization activities.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Plans Raw and Packaging material demands according to lead times and production needs across IMEA.

  • Maintains Raw and Packaging material master data and planning parameters.

  • Defines Raw and Packaging safety stocks and monitors the stock against the inventory target and reduces slow- and non-movers in IMEA.

  • Communicates any changes in volume, time and specification to the relevant parties.

  • Ensure that Raw and Packaging are ordered in the most cost effective way and that Raw and Packaging Material stocks are kept at the targeted service & inventory levels.

  • Ensure that maximum speed is captured with all COGS savings in order to optimize business profitability.

  • Establish a system whereby Raw and Packaging Materials are phased in and out based on the guidelines and ensure optimization of overall raw material inventory profile (days cover).

  • Establish a robust and problem free replenishment framework to the production schedules.

  • Ensure that ongoing Raw and Packaging material supply requirements to the finished goods schedules are communicated to the suppliers well in advance to enable availability to call off of these materials with the shortest possible lead-times and to ensure stability of finished goods supply to the third party customer base.

  • Escalates availability and delivery issues with suppliers to IMEA Raw and Packaging Material Planning Manager, especially if shortage in raw material could be an issue for production.

  • Informs Regional Production Planner in case of delays.

  • Informs global suppliers in case of delays in production and cancels Raw and Packaging material orders if material is not needed anymore.

  • Checks order confirmations and follows up on open orders, monitors punctuality and delivered volumes.

  • Monitor supplier performance and initiate SCMS where necessary.

  • 80% operationally and being backed up by Local Raw and Packaging material planner.
