Job Title: Dy Manager – Indirect tax
Location: Mumbai- Andheri
Reporting to: GM-Taxation
Criteria: CA or Inter CA with 5+ years of experience in Indirect tax, preferably from manufacturing sector
- Working knowledge of SAP processes
- Having exposure of working in multinational set up
- Ability to drive and manage projects in various areas
- A desire and ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish daily goals
- Good English communication skills (written & spoken)
- Good organizational skills with a systematic approach to all work.
- Able to plan workload and maintain flexibility within that plan individually and for the team
- Open to travel to various states of India
Job Objective
- Responsible for ensuring indirect tax compliance processes are being followed correctly in order for indirect tax returns which company is responsible for preparing and submitting are filed on time and accurately and in accordance with local legislation. The role requires the direct management of the India based indirect team as a whole, and also liaison with other stakeholders in the GST/VAT compliance process including other teams within company.
- The role also requires support and training to be provided to direct reports as well as ensuring their standards of work are high and that they are also following the processes which cover the tax compliance work they are undertaking. The role also requires direct involvement in the preparation of submission and liaising with tax authorities while ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, corporate policies and procedure. In this team lead role, he/she will be responsible for supporting indirect direct tax compliances, reporting, and litigation.

Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that Indian Business comply with local indirect Tax regulations, Group's norms and standards within the framework of the objectives defined by the Group Finance and Tax Departments
- Monition all GST compliances all-India including the accurate filing of tax returns, timely payment of taxes, annual GST audit.
- Review of various reconciliation in GST regime
- Manage tax risks and litigation covering for GST, Customs (limited review), and erstwhile Indirect taxes such as Central Excise, Service Tax, VAT
- Advise and provide necessary technical support from indirect Tax standpoint to the Business in carrying out standard or exceptional operations
- Monitor the information in the company tax files (calculation of indirect taxes, tax consolidation) in conjunction with local authorities, the Consolidation Department and Group Tax Department
- Proactive planning of documents/ resources for assessment and litigation
- Defend the Company's interest in relation to local authorities, public authorities and professional bodies
- Handle appeals at all level including Tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court with help of appropriate advocates
- Remain constantly up to date with legislative and local regulatory developments that impact business and tax compliance.
- Responsible for Physical and Digital Tax Records Management.
- Identify opportunities to save indirect taxes within the framework of law
- Give guidance to accounts, business, logistics, factories and regional office team on indirect tax
- Knowledge of SEZ compliance
- Understanding of FTP rules, duty drawback, incentive, Moower, DESH etc
- Ensure timely finalization and relevant reporting of annual report, tax audit and other statutory requirement along with monthly MIS
- Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team’s capabilities and build a strong pipeline for the role
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent and competent authority
