Position:  HCL Ecommerce Solutions Engineer

Location:  Mumbai

Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or MIS required.

• 8+ years of overall experience in information technology of which 5+ years in roles with primary focus in HCL WebSphere Commerce

• Experience with other market leading B2B and B2C ECommerce solutions is a plus

Skills & Knowledge

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Hands-on experience in developing eCommerce applications using  WebSphere Commerce Suite
    • Knowledge on recent WCS versions - V8 or later including the latest Feature Packs
    • Strong understanding of WCS data model and sub-systems
    • Should have demonstrated Hands-On Skills and expertise in the following Subsystems in WCS (Order, Catalog, Member.)
    • B2B and B2C Store Development Experience with extended sites model
    • Strong understanding of the WCS Runtime Framework and be comfortable working with Struts, Spring
    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience in WCS key concepts like BOD, REST, SOA
    • Experience with J2EE architecture and development including servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JSP
    • Experience integrating WebSphere Commerce with Web Content Management Systems (CMS)
    • Ability to work with SVN, Gitlab
    • Languages - Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS.
    • Nice to have: IDEs - SAP NetWeaver NWDS 7.3, Eclipse 3.0, SAP ISA (WCEM) architecture.
  • Ability to work with associates on a team under the supervision of a leader or work independently as necessary
  • Highly organized and pays attention to details
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
  • Ability to clearly articulate & present solutions to the end user and IT leadership
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across various IT functional areas such as ERP (JDE and SAP), SharePoint, Ecommerce, PIM, DB and System Administration
  • Ability to provide guidance and assistance to other team members while handling higher level tasks
  • Ability to work across time zones in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to clearly and comfortably view, interpret and process information via a computer monitor for extended periods of time  during normal work hours is required.
  • Candidate may be required to travel 2-4 times per year (including international travel)

Position brief

In this position, as HCL Ecommerce Solutions Engineer you will get to design, develop and deploy HCL WebSphere Commerce features, functionality and solutions for business segments running on HCL WebSphere for Ecommerce.

 

Job Responsibilities

Reliable operations:

• Accountable for HCL WebSphere Commerce services in operation including on-call support (keep the lights on)

• Maintain an operational service catalog

• Coordinate with software and/or service vendors as needed and respond promptly to production support issues

• Responsible for creating knowledge base of support documentation that includes issue trackers, FAQs

Design & Build:

• Responsible for designing, developing and deploying end to end HCL WebSphere Commerce solutions, or selected functionality within HCL WebSphere Commerce

• Works with business end users, IT business analysts, and other IT Build teams to design, build, test and deploy features and functionalities prioritized by the business

Compliance, Embedded Security & Privacy by design:

• Ensure that all major software and hardware components of the HCL WebSphere Commerce landscape are up to date to ensure secure and stable operations

• Ensure that access to HCL WebSphere Commerce assets, data and/or code is secure and in accordance with business requirements & IT policies

• Support data/access collection requirements for audits

Technical Architecture:

• Maintain a development service Catalog – a repository of development offerings/best practices

• Provide guidance and mentoring to team members

• Ensure compatibility and optimized integration between our major enterprise applications including, but not limited to, ERP, PIM and Identity Management

Application Rationalization:

• Maintain an up to date inventory of all existing HCL WebSphere Commerce assets & solutions. This includes information such as integration points, usage/adoption, lifecycle risk/outlook and conversion/migration obstacles

• Participate, lead and advise on efforts to consolidate and rationalize our HCL WebSphere Commerce solutions footprint

Innovation & Technology leadership:

• Collaborate with the IT business partners/analysts to direct innovation efforts based on business needs

• Stay abreast and investigate technologies in the Digital customer experience space

• Research ongoing industry developments and make recommendations on enhancing our technology posture

Risk & Lifecycle management:

• Monitor and identify lifecycle risks and develop roadmaps for remediation

• Monitor vendor support/license risks, as well as security and vulnerability risks associated with the lifecycle

• Work with IT leadership to budget and schedule risk remediation projects
