Position: Head Treasury, Taxation and Insurance

Location: Mumbai

Reporting to: Director Finance/ CFO

Reportees: 5

Criteria: MBA/PG/CA/Inter CA  with 14+ years of experience in Treasury, Taxation and Insurance.

Prerequisite:
Prior experience in managing Treasury function/ sub functions

Job Purpose:

Will be responsible for managing the treasury functions and fund requirements of the company, as well as handling the taxation and insurance needs. Should have excellent interpersonal skills, with adaptability and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and frame the overall strategy for the Treasury function for Company in line with the long term outlook and objectives of the business

  • Developing financial strategy for new projects in close coordination with internal stakeholders and presenting proposals to the Board. 

  • Participate in bid discussions, finalisation of financing model for bid submissions, contract finalisation, achieving financial closure and refinancing of existing debts etc at most competitive terms, monitoring the capex phasing/project funding etc.  

  • Raising of funds through bonds & debentures, documentation, compliance of covenants etc.

  • Participate in various strategic discussions with Senior leadership for effective decision making.

  • Manage fund flows and working capital for ensuring optimum allocation and utilization of funds

  • Ensure profitability for the business from all treasury activities within risk parameters and regulations

  • Close liaisoning with Banks and Financial Institutions to raise long term & short term funds and non-funded facilities for meeting the financial requirements of the company and liaisoning with investment bankers, consultants, law firms.

  • Cash planning, managing day-to-day liquidity/investments of short term surpluses, to meet the repayment obligations of the company on due dates.

  • Compliance with FEMA/ODI/FDI/ECB guidelines to ensure appropriate Forex Risk Management/ Hedging. Dealing with Overseas investments/disinvestments and for RBI approvals if required.

  • Drive the interaction with rating agencies for obtaining/annual surveillance of external credit rating to guide the organization and other subsidiaries/JVs.

  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, rating agencies, investment banks etc to ensure strong organizational relationships with financial institutions.

  • Lead special initiatives like M&A, Equity fund raising/IPO, divestments, and restructuring as required to meet the organizational mandate.

  • Supervise the Taxation function (both direct and indirect), guide and lead the taxation team for strict compliance of statutes and empower the team for performance excellence. Frame strategy for settlement of disputes at various forums, advance rulings, liaise with lawyers/consultants for tax litigation matters and ensure swift closure of disputes, tax optimisation within the legal framework, obtain refunds etc.

  • Understand insurance matters and recommend the right type of coverage for organization’s assets and facilities and ensure optimum and adequacy of cover.

  • Experience in handling Accounts, Audit, Budget & MIS etc in SAP environment will be an added advantage.
