Position: Manager - Projects (Construction projects – Brown field / Green field)

Location: Navi Mumbai

Reporting To: Plant Manager

Criteria: BTech / BE(Mechanical/Chemical) with 10+ years of experience in Project (Min 4+ years as Project Manager in Pharma, Chemical Sector). Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) & Auto cad, PM Certification (optional).

Job Purpose:

• To support Plant Manager effectively in the area of Project Engineering and Construction so as to manage various improvement Projects at Thane (Mumbai) locations with revised methodology of capex reporting structure, support site project organization effectively in the area of project planning , scheduling & monitoring of projects on various KPI s set for performance. Follow PMO guidelines for

• PM coordinating core team , consultants & contractors & internal stakeholders. Execute projects with due regard to safety, health and environment and quality and ensure Project Engineering and Construction are executed in an efficient.

• To collaborate with contractors, site team, so that timely decisions during the Engineering  and Construction phase can be taken. This requires setting up an effective Project Execution and Coordination System with contractors, site stakeholders etc.

Required Professional Experience:

People management:

Should have excellent technical & interpersonal skills and should display very high acumen for engineering & collaborative working. if done effectively, will ensure project completion within time and budget. 

Technological/market know-how:

Needs to understand the project management processes and working with Consultants and Contractors. This would mean the job holder is technically very sound and familiar with Engineering Standards & Codes and plant and machinery & needs to interact with consultants and contractors personnel very closely and provide his value addition at various stages of engineering and construction during Project execution from the best industry practices.

Project management:

Needs to closely monitor and execute the project within project completion timelines and project milestones achievement.

Personal skills:

To be well organised and have a very knowledge of Engineering standards & Projects execution systems to ensure best in class engineering and construction of plants. Needs to have excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate the project activities with WorkStream Leads, consultants and contractors.

Miscellaneous (IT / languages):

Must have a very good command of both English, Hindi and Marathi (preferably) (Spoken and written). Excellent communication skills and must be ready to interact with all levels of personnel. AutoCAD, MS Project & SAP knowledge preferably.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing Engineering activities for projects, Project conceptualization, scope preparation, feasibility analysis, cost estimation, proposal and execution. Adherence engineering toolbox and other Company’s standards, various international standards and local statutory bodies requirements.

• Capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and production flow. Lead the risk assessments & implement process safety compliances for ensuring safe process operations.

• Design conceptualization & detailed engineering, planning and scheduling, Resources allocation, execution strategy, plan budget and time frame. Erection and commissioning. Tender / BOQ preparation, floating of the enquiries, project procurement and follow up, coordination with engineering consultants, 

• Arranging and attending kick-off meetings and onboarding of contractors and early engagement of contractors for smooth and Safety compliance with zero incidents. . On-time and within-budget project delivery.

• Leading design of mechanical systems, design optimisation and drawings. Review of offers, making TBA and recommending vendors. Vendor evaluation for safe and timely deliveries.

• Execution of production plant systems and packages, commissioning systems entirely and training and handing over the plant to production.

• Coordination with internal teams, external consultants and designers, making systems for streamlined communication between all stakeholders and companies involved.

• Document control for the project, making and implementing document control systems. Engineering document deliverables as per DCI, engineering document approval after incorporation of comments and regular tracking of document deliverables from Detail engineering company. Expediting engineering activities and approvals, Coordinate with Engineering WorkStream Authority. 

• Coordination with statutory bodies and meeting their requirements during various approval procedures.

• Setting up billing models for various contractors and ensuring proper billing.

• Evaluating various sustainability projects and co-ordinating with designers and various agencies. Efficiency improvements in plant operations.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the project management team and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support .

• Work closely with technology personnel to define and settle project engineering scope.

• Implement Value Engineering with-out compromising Safety & Technical Integrity.

• Support project manager, construction team to resolve technical issues.

• List out major learning’s during the project execution phases & take corrective measures during future phases of projects implications.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Project Management:Will drive projects for site sustainability, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and quality standards.

• Troubleshooting and Problem Analysis: To do problem Analysis and planning for improving Project management processes in critical measures (reliability, quality, and cost).

• Scale up and New Processes: To participate in the development and implementation of major initiatives (scale up, prepare new schemes, capital projects, etc.)

• Project Documentation:To maintain all the relevant documents for easy reference. Document maintained in Share point.
